How to treat piercing
The healing takes usually 6-8 weeks, it’s very individual. The best for disinfection is to use 3% PEROXIDE solution (please do not use more then once a day, this might result to dry, erythematic and sensitive skin). When bathing use ANTIBACTERICAL SOUP. For cleaning is recommended also salt solution (kitchen or sea salt dissolved in water). Skin is naturally resisting to strange product and it’s discharging interstitial fluid (transparate fluid), it sometimes ulcerates and these admixtures are building up around the piercing and on the jewel and creating crust, which needs to be cleaned and cleared (by soup, salted water,…). Do not move the piercing, if not moistened, you can move the piercing when cleaning, but do not remove. Absolutely don’t use any ointment (like framykoin, bactroban, tea-tree oil,…..). It’s hard for the skin to breath through the coat of ointment; it can’t discharge admixtures and can start to ulcerate. Healing of navel piercing can take up to 6 months. With nasal piercing is important during the first few weeks be aware of removing the piercing because it grows over very fast and it’s very hard to apply back.
Common for tongue piercing is swollen tongue and it usually lasts 3-7 days. Sometimes you may see white coating, very rarely swollen throat ganglion.
Treatment – wash out with alcohol free mouth-wash, cool down with ice and hold up, it will calm down.
